My 2012 300GTS HAS 6600 miles and has been maintained per manual. For the last two months or so I've noticed that when I'm running at speed and throttle down (stop sign, red light, curve, etc) the engines 'burbles' and occasionally backfires----not loud, more of a pop. Is this a tuning issue or????

Mine does it during hot weather and longer rides when I let off the throttle. The dealer said it was normal.

backfire
Hi, I'm new to this forum. I've had the same issue with my'06 GTS 250. A little Seafoam seems to help a lot. -M-

Wow really? It's normal? My 2007 GTS 250 has never backfired and I've put 15K miles on it. It burbles a little when I'm "engine braking", as did my LX150, but has NEVER backfired. That seems extreme to me -- maybe a valve lash or timing problem???

Never heard of a 300 doing it but common on the 200's. Sounds more like a fart or a moo.

You're also in Palo Alto. Mine does it in 100 deg plus weather.
