I know this is not a news flash or anything, but a P series saddle in prime condition is actually a pretty comfy ride when you have to ride on California's deteriorating roads, potholes and all. Those springs can take much more of the shock away from your back than the more modern seats with plastic pans.

California is prone to potholes? I am a west coaster and I will tell ya the constant freeze and thaw with the addition of salt here in Chicago make California's roads look like a roller rink.

My original old 1980 P series saddle is still the most comfortable I've ever had. I think about putting it back on all the time.

Love the P seat, but I still favor a properly stuffed Rally seat.
Seriously, riding my 180 is like having your ass cupped by the hands of angels. |

I had been riding my GT200 modern scoot quite a bit, which is why the P saddle seems even more comfy. I like the GT200, but that plastic pan in the seat sends every jolt right up your spine. I know...I am starting to sound like an old guy (because I am.)

Is a P saddle any different tnan a '60s saddle? I like my stock GL saddle a lot, but it's obviously not as solid as a bench and feels 'looser' when riding. P saddle pic for reference, I didn't even know they had them available.
![]() xantufrog's bike when 'new', but seat was quickly changed to a bench. From this old P saddle seat thread |

Actually I was talking about a P series bench with springs. I had the single saddle on my Sprint, and the P bench has it beat for comfort...at least for my posterior.

I have to agree. I have ridden a lot of bikes and can't remember having a saddle as comfy. It definitely beats the lounge seat with the butt rest on the Burgman I had recently. No more hot numby cheeks for me.
