I have searched this topic in the past, but filled up my BV for the first time the other day and had a devil of a time getting the pump nozzle to fit all the way down so as the pump would start. Had to pull the rubber boot up off the nozzle to make to gas come out. This is difficult because I can't see how many gallons I'm pumping as the tank is on the floor of the scooter and I cant twist myself around to see the pump. Also, the way the BV gas tank is made, I can't see inside the tank like I could on my Vespa S150. Are there any BV owners in California who can give me some advice? Am I doing something wrong? I just can't get the nozzle all the way down. Thanks.

You might look into one of these E-Z Fill Nozzle Key's sold by Aerostitch.

Or a McCuff

Good luck

I don't have a BV350, but I do have to pull up the little rubber boot and hold it while I'm pumping the gas or otherwise gas spurts out when the pump gets to the point where it shuts off automatically. The pump still shuts off automatically if you are holding the boot up, so I just stop there.

This is fairly typical of most modern Vespas in California. The nozzle often (though not always) stops before pressing the vapor recovery sleeve far enough up.

So you're not alone. I feel your pain. Every time I gas up.

Thanks for all the feedback! McCuff looks really great. I'll probably order one and see if it solves my problem.

It was a little easier filling the tank on a Speed Triple but I did feel a little self-conscious having to go "old fashioned" right there in public to get the tank full.
