I think there is a short in my wiring harness and I got some smoke the other day when the fuse popped. And it was highlighted with that wonderful electrical burn smell.

So I'm going to need to replace the loop. I wasn't the one who put in the 12v conversion. But the previous owner takes a long time to respond to emails. So I'm hoping I can get some advice.

1. What is the recommended loop for me to use if I don't have a electric start.
2. Any link to the site that has one in stock?

thanks

Sheldon

Without seeing a diagram of what you currently have it would be conjecture to suggest a pre-fab harness. It's not too hard to make your own and either will require pulling the tank and some fiddling to run the wires through the tunnel and steering column area.

I would try to track down the short first. Look every where the loom runs that has moving parts.

I suck at using a multimeter, but maybe you or someone you know could track it down that way.

A good wrap of electrical tape may be all you need.

I meant to conclude with: Running a loom is a pain in the butt.
