So about two weeks ago, I bought (privately) a 2012 125 S with 3300 km on it. Just starting to ride it now and hitting a bunch of problems! Bike looks in very good shape but:

a) Oil pressure warning light has started to come on when going above idle even though there is plenty of oil in it (maybe too much actually)

b) See my previous post about it cutting out in a closed-throttle, hot engine situation e.g. when approaching lights or cruising down a hill.

c) One of the centrestand springs broke off within me riding it 1 few miles!

I'm getting a little discouraged here!

I did adjust the throttle cables (trying to fix B) where they attach to throttle body after which time the ild warning light started appearing. Any idea if this could affect it somehow?

Any thoughts from anyone?

Thanks,

FBB

Check the air filter for the stalling problem. May be soaked with oil. Remove it soak in warm water with simple green. Rinse and push water out, roll up in dry towel, remove from towel and let dry in sun. Apply thin film of oil to outside of filter and reinstall.

Thanks for the replies guys.

Yeah, no warranty I'm afraid. Even if the local dealership did transfer the warranty, it was only for 6 months or 6 thousand KM so expired a few months ago.

I'll check the air filter for sure but my biggest worry right now is the oil-pressure light. Obviously, potentially serious!

Cheers, FBB

Yup! British originally but lived here for 26 years.

There are a LOT of Vespas here on the island but nothing bigger than 150cc which is the maximum motorcycle size allowed by local laws.

Oil warning light
This appears to be something electrical as when I remove the pet carrier and wiggle the wires next to the HT lead, I can make the light go out.

Anyone know where the oil pressure sensor is on an injected 125 S?

Thanks,

FBB

Um, I think his description of "Bajamas" (Bahamas) is a poke to your "Bernuda" (Bermuda).
