Does anyone else own a 2013 Fly 150?

The picture on all the advertisements show 2 helmets fitting under the seat. I have a HJC CL33 helmet that won't fit. At first I thought it was because a have an XL but when I tried putting my wife's helmet (size small) under the seat it didn't fit either!

I've tried all different ways to put the helmet in and no luck. The seat just won't close.

Was wondering if anyone else out there is having this problem.

This is fairly common. The obligatory "underseat helmet storage picture" found in most marketing materials always manages to show a helmet (or two) fitting, but not a helmet that anyone actually uses.

And it's true that helmets come in many different sizes, and those sizes differ from brand to brand. Still, it's always been a bit frustrating, and it's always been a bit misleading.

There's nothing wrong with your bike. Or your helmet. There's something wrong with marketing.

Thanks Jess.

It felt like a game of Tetris for a while! No matter which way I put the helmet in the seat it just wouldn't close haha

Since I do most of my riding by myself I'm thinking about maybe putting a small Givi box on the bike just for my helmet.

I haven't had my hands on the new Fly yet, but I'd be willing to bet that there's a helmet hook somewhere under the seat, near the hinge, that you can hang your helmet on and then lock the seat. It's not perfect, but it's probably better than leaving it on the seat.

You know I didn't even look.

There is a pull out hook but it doesn't lock (looks like the pic below)

Thanks again!

No, it would be under the seat, if it was there. And visible only when the seat was open. Probably a metal hook that's part of the hinge plate, or (as on a Vespa GTS) a peg on the underseat bucket.

I have a 2012 one and as far as I can tell there is no helmet hook. Not sure if it is universal, but I thought it was because I was on the piaggio and not the Vespa that they didn't spring for it...I'll have to reexamine the hinge again and see if I'm missing something though. It made me a bit mad considering it is just a little bit of metal and the cheap knock-offs even have it.

I have the same issue, though i expected it as I use a flip-front helmet. I just use my piaggio top box for helmet storage.

As for the helmet hook, i haven't got one (and would never consider using one).
