full panniers and the like, when not road tripping

Only a few close friends have given me crap about it but I am well prepared for a reply when it happens. I will casually ask them if they ever tracked a bike before and invite them when I take my Ducati 848 and really see if they know how to ride!

i really don't care what people say about riding scooter, it's my passion,once a rider will forever be a rider. i read on one of the motorcycle forums that Scooters are like having sex with a real heavy woman,fun to ride,but you just don't want to be caught riding one.,,of course i wouldnt know anything about that..LOL

i will ride a scooter as long as i can..

Maybe they're thinking af a Gilera. A Runner or a Nexus. One of those ones with the vents inside the legshield that you can point up or down.

I was in my garage, along with a friend of mine. We were looking over the scooter and as the friend is a motorcycle rider of many years experience, I asked him if he would like to take it for a ride. He looked at it kind of longingly, glanced through the raised garage door and down through the neighborhood, and then exclaimed "Ya know, it looks like it would really be fun to ride....maybe when it gets dark."

Just as a guess, this joke probably originated from one of my esteemed fellow Americans, where Motorcycle Penis Syndrome runs rampant and where the Gilera marquee is nonexistent.

Why would anyone not like a vagina on a scooter?....If I ever bite the big one on my GTS my cremated remains will be spread throughout the vats at the Massengill factory. Just think of all the ... Nah, won't say it.

I propose we need to study this subject more... Are there any book on the topic like "Vaginas for Dummies".

I continue to use the same response to these kinds of comments about scooters:

"I chose this Vespa over a motorcycle because I ride year round and it just handles more reliably in snow and frigid weather".

That has almost always changed the tone of the conversation.

I always thought those beer-bellied guys on the cruisers with the foot pegs way out looked like woman with their feet in the stirrups giving birth... THEY must be the ones with vaginas.

Everyone who thinks scooters are somehow not as good as a Motorcycle needs to grow a pair...of ovaries.

Still waiting for more advise here..... teach me I am trainable....i think.
