I've been a fan for years. In my musician days my sound system included 4 Bose 402 speakers and a Bose subwoofer cabinet. At home we have a Bose home theater system.

But Dr. Bose was about far more than just great sound reproduction. He was about fresh thinking and new approaches to problem solving. If you read about him, the list of giants in other fields who studied under him at MIT is incredible.

Bose headphones, headsets (especially their noise cancelling aviation and military equipment) and radios are second to none, but in the pro audio world it is jokingly said that seeing BOSE on on entertainment venue's list of equipment stands for "Bring Other Sound Equipment".
