Sorry to dredge this old thread, but I just added a movie to my list of movies.

If you get the chance to see "What We Do in the Shadows" see it. How can't you like a Vampire comedy.
Syd, good call. I just saw a movie called "Bronson" starring Tom Hardy. It's not for everybody, for sure. I was mostly struck by the fact that this young actor is extremely talented. It also has a cool soundtrack. I'll leave you with a clip.
You people from the UK should be well aware of this movie and main character. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Salvador
A clip is a good idea, Trotter.

My five are all mainstream, but here it goes:

1) Shawshank Redemption - I read the book in one evening, and the movie I have seen over and over....

2) The Godfather - it's just so well done.... the characters all are complex with flaws.

3) All is Lost - Robert Redford in a movie by himself, with no dialogue.

4) Gravity - I know it's a farfetched story, but the special effects are fantastic, and they're there just to make you feel that the story is realistic, not to give anyone superhuman power or defy the laws of gravity.

5) An Office and a Gentleman - Something about this movie really resonated with me

Office mate and I are SO DISAPPOINTED that this film didn't make it out to North Carolina.

Goodfellas
My favorite gangster movie just behind Carlito's Way.

Clip has violence, so viewer beware. It's one of the best uses of a song in a movie I have ever seen.

Kung Pow is way under rated IMO.

"Your Clothes are black!"
"Swinging the chain, swinging the chain..."
"One. Of us. Is wearing. a Pushup bra."
