I ordered the beautifully-executed/packaged/video-demonstrated LED turn-signal mod from Scooter West for my new GTS.

Half-way through the first part of the mod (rear lights), I decided it was a "no-go," since the lights are super bright and too white (not amber enough). Some people might not mind, but it wasn't what I wanted, at all.

I figured this may be worth posting, just in case others are as uptight about the chroma of their signal lights.

A indicator signal light can never be to bright if you ask me..
The color is a personal thing (although over here it's limited to red or orange on the back and orange or white on the front).

I'm dealing with the same thing. I have the LED DRL + Blinker kit for the front that was installed by the dealer. I put in the rear blinker kit myself.

The fronts are orange and the backs are yellow. I want them to match, but I prefer the brighter yellow more than the orange.

I am going to experiment with changing out the bulbs from a place called superbrightleds.com -- looks like they have the same type of bulbs that came in the kit but in different colors. I am going to get both the yellow and orange colors and try to get a match, or at least something closer.

Thanks for the suggestion XSTNTL. I will check them out, too. Let me know what you learn!

I went ahead and installed the front kit today. The turn signals are amber, like you wrote; nicer (though not as bright) than the rear bulbs. I am dealing with the issue where the running light is delayed after the turn signal cancels. It seems to take 10 to 20 seconds; frustrating.

I also changed the bulbs to leds and now the color is more "yellow" than orange.
To me that's not a real problem, more important is that they shine much brighter.

Are the leds white or orange ?
If these are white ones, you could try to change the leds for amber ones.

Hey jpatkinson - I posted about an LED back blinker that matches the front: GTV LEDilemma -- if you're still interested.

I agree that I would rather have a bit more visibility than worrying about the exact color pallet that Piaggio intended. I also think considering all the charging system problems that seem to plague these scooters, having less draw on the system by incorporating the LEDs only makes sense, anyone?

I have the LEDs that do both now - visible and match in color.

Although I like the yellow color more than orange/amber myself, the VLEDs that I have installed are bright and amber (orange) - and they match the front DRL switchback ambers of the ScooterWest kit in the front.

Finding amber rear signals was easier than trying to find yellow switchbacks for the front.

The rear VLED amber signals are brighter, or have more light output, than the yellow (as in jpatkinson's photos) LEDs.

Here are the part numbers I have installed:

Rear Blinker LED: VLED 7507 (SKU 7507_21_A)
Brake LED: VLED Red LED 921 (SKU 921_14_HP_R)

While riding with a buddy of mine, he told me that he couldn't tell sometimes that I had my blinker on (this is with the yellow LEDs) during midday sun -- now, with the VLED amber blinkers, they are noticeable.

Cinematographers's "gel"
Stop in a camera store, or studio photographer, or a stage and snag some scrap "gel" to cover the LED bulbs with. A little amber might make you happier
