Has anybody used a technique or product to restore the black on the plastic body when it starts to fade?

'Back to Black' aerosol (not the trigger spray version) - I don't know the equivalent in the US, sorry.

Too bad it seems like that's only available in the UK...I couldn't google a North American equivalent. Or my search skills are lacking.

I used Mother's Back-to-Black. The first time I tried it, I put it on very sparingly and it didn't do much. Sometime later, I followed the directions and put it on liberally, massaged it thoroughly into the surface, then vigorously buffed it out after it dried. It really made a difference, restoring the color to almost new condition.

Lots of reviews here: http://www.amazon.com/Mothers-06108-Back-Black-Trim/product-reviews/B0002U1TXK/ref=cm_cr_dp_see_all_summary?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=1

+1; I use this too. Not a permanent solution (like paint), but lasts a good long time and easy to re-apply.

lots of products out there. just go to an auto parts store and look for them. try an find something that has a uv protectant in it to help long term fading effects.

I also use Mothers Back to Black with good results.

RENEWit is a product I believe I use. Might be for all plastics. Amazon has a few like "back to black" ? Just search black plastic auto for choices. All are just simply like waxing, wipe on with cloth and wipe off after a minute or two. Usually good a least a year or two.

Also looking forward to the end of this month when I get my Akrapovich, Kuryakyn grips and Foot pedals with heel rests installed. I'm quite excited.
