I saw there was a place for service charts in the Vespa Wiki and I was doing one for myself to make it easier to do my own BV350 service. Wiki is at: Service Intervals

I think I got it right but left it in Word to make it easy to modify if not.

I did the following
- put all the intervals to print on one 8.5 x 11 sheet, plus how to turn the service indicator off.
- included the equivalent miles in the header and extended the respective pattern out to 130 km (81K miles).
- included the service manual page number for the service point (as best as I could determine). Still haven't figured out where the "Belt Compartment Filter" or "Safety Fasteners" is in the manual and I am not really sure what they are referring to by "Throttle Control". I could be the handlebar throttle or the "throttle body" found on the engine. No clue and any help is appreciated.
- And finally, the various points are in a slightly different order but they are all there. I put them in mileage order and grouped them so that you can use the chart also as a checklist.

Enjoy. Nerd emoticon

I don't know much about engines, so I have a question. Do you really replace the hub oil at the first 600 mile service and then never replace it again? I thought the rule of thumb was every other oil change.

Also, what is a brake pump?

The brake pump is the brake master cylinder. There has been a lot of talk about this on other forums, especially continental ones. Why Piaggio specify replacement of the master cylinders is beyond me, particularly when they do not on the other 350 (the X10 350). And yes it definately does mean the master cylinder and it's not just something that got lost in translation.

The hub oil is replaced because of break in. If you look at the definition of "I" it includes replacement (as needed).

For real on the brake pump!?! At first I thought it might be an ABS thing but that seems pretty odd. Of course it's not like master cylinders wear out after 15K km. either. Or at least they shouldn't. Wha? emoticon Why would they (ever) specify replacement of any of the mechanical brake system? Just inspect/adjust/repair as needed. A little scary when you think about it.

Any clue on the other items?
- Safety Fasteners
- Belt Compartment Filter
- Throttle Control

I think the last may just be inspecting/adjusting/replacing accelerator assembly (cable, grip, action, etc.) but there is that "throttle body" thing.

Put it this way, even if Piaggio do mean that the master cylinders should be replaced at that interval, there is no way on earth I'm doing it or having it done. It's a complete nonsense.

R&R Brake Pump
That's the craziest thing I've ever heard of. If you have to change the master cylinders every 9k miles wouldn't it also call for a brake fluid change too? Is there ANY precedence for that in the automotive/motorcycle world? Even BMW doesn't call for anything like that!
