This is without doubt the nimblest and most fun motorcycle/scooter I've ever ridden. The 400 cc engine is surprisingly peppy even with a rider and allows you to go over 80 mph on the freeway! I have been getting 56 mpg. This was purchased new last summer. It has 2,400 miles as of this posting. The storage is expansive! I take this grocery shopping and I can stuff more than half a grocery cart of groceries into the three storage areas (which includes under the seat, in the "trunk" at the rear, and in the roomy top-box). The comfort windshield seen in the pictures is graceful, functional, and actually improved my mpg, and allows me to commute to work when the temperatures are in the single digits! (This also comes with the short stock windshield for summer-time riding.) This is a beautiful metallic blue and comes also with two red Bell helmets. I have loved riding this scooter more than anything I've ever owned. The articulating three wheel design makes this incredibly stable and allows you to take corners far more aggressively than is possible with standard two-wheeled motorcycles or scooters. Traversing a winding canyon road is more fun than I should ever admit to. The three wheel design also allows for very fast and aggressive stopping. (You can see YouTube videos of people standing these up on the front wheels just by using the front brakes!)
The photos show the bike from several angles. You will also see the roomy space under the seat, the spacious top-box (which is holding the two helmets I'm giving away with the bike), and the rear trunk (which is large enough to hold a helmet). Seats two adults comfortably, with a nice back rest for the passenger. The MP3 makes for a smooth and stable touring bike.
If you go to the Piaggio website (http://www.piaggiousa.com.), you can peruse additional technical information, in addition, you will see that the MSRP on an MP3-400 is $8,699. Once you add in the $450 comfort windshield and the $250 top-box, and the two Bell helmets, this is a $9,500 retail value for only $6,499 The condition of the bike is still perfect and it looks brand new.
You need to drive this to believe it. Fun is an understatement. It is peppy, nimble, stable, economical, and practical. Excellent vehicle for commuting, running errands, or traversing the wide-open highway at freeway speeds!
