Modern Vespa

Got it back today... had JJ do the motor for some trading stuff.
1978 with a DR kit. Converted to a non battery. Polini exhaust. New tires. New inner/outer cables, brakes... lots of other stuff.
It rips! Speedo only goes up to 40... had to remove inner cable cause this shit is doing 60 on GPS.
This has been sitting in a garage on parts for about 10 years... but now it is on the road like it was meant to be. 8)

Horn..
This is the later bigger American 6 volt horn. I guess a Rally horn will work?
The small lights that light up the highbeam indicator and the neutral indicator.
Speedometer light.

I can easily see this being my main ride... the other scooters in my garage are already jealous! Hahaha.....

Checking on a horn(hensteeth) for you, not sure if it works. I have the proper tail lite too, if you are wanting to get her to back stock specs.

Great bike, same color as my '74 Primmy. '78, eh? How come no turn signal holes in the headset/'cowls'? Gotta be a US bike from the battery door & mudguard reflector holes.

Sweet ride Doc! Your pushing 60 mph outta DR kit, impressive.

What are your specs? Did JJ open up the transfer ports on the engine case or straight bolt on? Are you running a 19mm carb? Jetting? Timing? Any other mods besides the kit and Polini exhaust. I'm considering getting a DR kit or may pony up to the Polini with the new cylinder head.

What is this bigger carb you speak of? I know it's devilishly difficult to access the carbs in these , so here's a couple pointers.

1) Lift seat(may be latch at rear)

2) Remove plastic tool bin

3) Shine flashlight in revealed cavity & locate carburetter

Is it a Delly or an aftermarket manifold/carb? I've been playing with a Del Orto 20L I got on mine which I think came on some PK125XLs. I've only seen them elsewhere at SIP.

I'll try to get the specs this weekend from JJ. He did the build, ordered parts, etc etc for a trade.

Right now, I have the title, but it hasn't been registered in 10 years so not street legal. My rides are short and in the hood... not to mention I'm trying to dial in this damn Stella since the rebuild and it's getting most of the attention.

I'll see the guy today.
The story behind it is that he got it last year for $100... so he's in it like nothing practically. He loooooves mopeds.. I haaaave mopeds. Hopefully I can work a deal
