Hi guys

I bought a 2009 LX50 last week. I take my CBT in the morning.

Although i have no reason to suspect, I'm concerned / paranoid that it may have been derestricted, as this is my first scooter. How can i tell if it has??

And what are the penalties of being caught??

In the U.S. a restricted 50cc will only go about 30mph. An unrestricted one will go 40-45 mph. I rode an unrestricted 50cc without a tag for about a year. Illegal? Yes. Will you get caught where I live? Very improbable that the police will care if you ride like you have sense. I am in no way promoting illegal behavior.

Plead complete ignorance, and provide the history as you know it.

Basically, if it goes above 30mph (GPS, not indicated!) then it's derestricted.

But don't be fussed by it, honest.
