Well, Cindy got 3800 miles on the stock rear tire on her MP3 250. So we went and got a 145/70-12 car tire and hope she gets more miles out of it. How come the stock tires go so quick? Hell, I thought my bike wore out tires fast but I get 12k miles on them. Laughing emoticon

I'm the 1st guy here to try the mini-cooper car tire. When it wears out I'll tell you how many miles it's worth. So far it has 10K miles on it. I run 30 psi since @ 38 psi the center of the tire was wearing faster. I ride a lot on chip seal roads here. I expect to get 20K-30K miles out of the rear car tire. Have a rear car tire on my 400 MP3 too.

I got almost double that out of my Pirelli GTS 24, could road surfaces be an explanation? I've seen people from New Zealand complaining about what they call "chip-seal" roads wearing down tires. And after being in the UK recently, I noticed their asphalt roads seems to have thin jagged rocks in them as opposed to being smooth like here in Michigan.

I'm glad you are trying the mini-cooper car tire, as I wondered if that would work.

I'm not familiar with aircraft tires, but ... anyone try them to see if they might work?

I would think that a tire company would have to actually develop a tire for our front tires. Just for the MP3s.

You don't want aircraft tires. Every one I've ever seen was hard as a rock and very very expensive. There made to land a plane safely(lots of weight on a little tire at high speed) not for miles driven.

Sure there are, we got them from the stimulus bill a couple of years ago. Probably the last smooth ones we'll be seeing for awhile...LOL.
