Did a really dumb move and dropped my MP3 400 right on its foot peg. Plastic torn up under where the UFP attached. Dreading how much the fix will cost. Anybody had to get that fixed yet? Crying or Very sad emoticon

I had a car run into me and my foot peg and bracket actually saved my scoot from further damage. Just broke the plastics. Then again, cost just under $1500 to replace the plastics ... but it will cost this guy about $150,000 to repair me ... by the time he receives my medical bills.

I've dropped my scoot before I installed foot pegs. Nothing broke. Just picked up scoot and rode off.

Perhaps you will indeed have to do a full replacement, but check out this link first: Damage control. Perhaps something less than full replacement will do. Please advise.

EDIT: Hmm, for some reason Gonzo's (not Sticky's) all-important picture showing his repair technique is not displaying, I hope it is still visible to others - if not does anybody know if Gonzo posted a picture of his rivited floorboard repair anyplace else?

Also Abby note that Sticky also replaced the rubber floorbaords with aluminum, which at least do provide a fair amount of strengthening on their own and may help or eliminate the need to do any further bodywork replacement, depending on where exactly the damage is and its extent.

BTW >I've dropped my scoot before I installed foot pegs. Nothing broke

I believe Funky Monkey does not own a set of UFPs but made his own footpegs.

Actually, I made my own brackets, which is about 1.5" above what Jeff's brackets are. I think before my bracket touches the ground, the bottom part of the scoot's plastics hits the ground before my bracket does.

And another thing comes to mind Jeff ... you said that the positioning of the foot pegs where they will fold up if they come in contact with the ground matters. I liked that.

And that matters a lot, in a fall over.
