Hi mate,
I don't know about you, but that front chrome star shaped wheel cover doesn't look right at all.
I have seen it a lot on Asian bodge
PXes

Cheers Fabio

PS: I would not make an offer as a feel he may be fishing for fools ready to pay to much for a fairy tale story

I saw that one...

There was a PX 200 (in silver, very late model; maybe 2007). For sale in SF in nearly brand new condition a couple of weeks ago for $4k.

This one looks like a PX200. It has the disc brake, the body pieces and grips... Seems like it could be authentic.

Does anyone really care about the 'Serie Speciale?'. Just a marketing gimmick. And they made / numbered them for every country? It was more that that was near to be the end of the line for the PX.

Looks fine. Just modified in a very ugly way. The star hubcap is something sold by Scooterworks, etc. It's probably a good bike, if you de-two-tone it...

Seriously. All these perfect old scooters in other threads with 30-year-old paint that people want to repaint to look like... what? This?

This P is a good example of what not to do.

I talked to the guy about it a bit. I think it's legit. He says it's from Austria, where they did a smaller run of these "Specials" than in the UK. He has lots of pictures. It's a modern PX200 with special paint and a numbered plate. A decent bike, I suspect, but he wants a premium for the "rare" factor of like $2K-4K over, and it wasn't worth it to me. I offered to trade him my '06 LX150 for it... No.

it was done by vespa ya bell end .... im not saying thats a good thing but maybe if the checks where actually painted not just stickers ..... they made them as the last of the 200s .....

like when they stopped the t5 lump and did a limited run of 300 with disc brakes just for the uk market ... all t5s before that had drums ... the best kind of limited ... something usefully different

Disc brake 200s are quite rare in the US, since they were never legally imported. I think it's worth a good deal more than everybody's '79 P200e with a tractor light. How much more? Well it's worth whatever someone will pay. Think his price is too high? Don't buy it. You could put together a well-built 200 motor in an '05 PX150 for maybe $4k, but even then it wouldn't be a "rare, never imported" model.

Don't hate on my tractor light! 8) Honestly I think they look better than the Euro tailight in a shitty ugly kind of way. I like that though.

....on topic, why pay a bunch for some stickers? I don't get it.

and similarly, you could find a P200e in a carport for $500 and a abandoned Stella like I did for $100, swap the brake and buy the EFL PX trans for $300 and it's close enough to the same thing and I was happy. I am missing the coveted SE plate though.

70 kilometers on it? What, do people just buy these things to go whack off in the garage looking at it? It's not a TV200. my wiener hurts just thinking about it.
