If the ET2 seat is in any way comparable to the LX seat, this thread may be of help:

Locked my keys in the 150 LX Seat

KK, the info is out there already, and a thief doesn't worry about opening a seat without damage...

I know it may be bit late for the original poster, but I took a spare key, ,made for me by the worlds greatest locksmith- jimh -and secured it with some duct tape under the right hand side knee pad. Yes. I have to find a screw driver to get to it. but it is a lot easier to find a screw driver than a spare key.
