I love this so far. Since I ride with a full-faced helmet, sunglasses haven't been an option for me because they fog up too quickly. The helmets with drop-down visors seemed to be an option, but with this I didn't need to buy a new helmet. And buying a new tinted visor wasn't an option either because it would be too difficult to see when riding at night or on cloudy days.

Side note: I don't work for this company, nor do I know anyone who does - just trying to help out my fellow riders.

One thing I forgot to mention is that it stays above your line of sight, so on dark days it causes no issues with being able to see clearly.

I used one in an old helmet and it was a good option, particularly if you wear glasses with reactive lenses which don't work behind visors. You can't beat the drop down internal visor though.

Nice find. I came across something similar:

http://www.sunax.de/

This is fantastic because you don't need to have your face shield down. Installs inside the helmet. It's saved me numerous times.

There's been discussion here in the past about using a cling-on film, cut to fit. I found some on Amazon, 2 huge sheets for $5, cut a strip and good to go...put it on the outside for now, but inside is supposed to be good too. Should be enough for ALL my future helmets.

Plus side:
-Cheap, satisfies my inner cheapskate.
-Can share surplus with friends

Downside:
-Can look really dippy (from inside and out) if you get it crooked, by cut or placement.
-Not sure if it blocks UV.
-Just checked Amazon, it's up to $16. WTF?

Some of the posters mentioned getting some at auto parts stores as well.

I am one of those ^^^. I bought a car windshield strip at an auto parts store and cut a piece to fit my helmet. It works great.

I bought one of these, and apparently didn't install it correctly, leaving an edge loose from the face shield. I should have done it better, since I ride mostly with my visor open and wearing sunglasses. It is currently somewhere on I-580 in the center divider. I ending up throwing away the $15.00. See! With the windshield strip, you can cut a new one for each ride and maybe get through the summer. Of course you might pick up a few fines for littering. Razz emoticon

Yes, Michael, I think you were one of the folks that persuaded me....Thanks! I may invest in a "real" one after I've used up my supply of film.

I've been behind Vuarnets for 40 years. I wish someone would come up with the quality of drop down or film that they put into their short lived wraparound glasses.

+1 on the cling on the inside of the visor. I got a 5 foot roll for about $13 (USD). Perfect solution, and have enough for a lifetime. Been on all summer, so far.

I have been using the similar "sundowner" cling strips for years. They work great. I have one on each of my helmets and I have given one to every one of my riding buddies. And yes, I'm sure you could do as well with a piece of car window tinting film if you want to cut the stuff into appropriate sizes.
