Hello all.
This is my first post and I am asking for some advice.
I have had my Vespa 125 GTS 2008 for just over 2 weeks, and can't get enough of it, done 1200km on it already (came with 8000km)
No I have a problem, I wheeled it out the garage and went to start when 'BANG' - sounded like a rifle shot, and my friend who was pulling away in his van at the time thought I had dropped the thing!
The engine started after, but I noticed a hole in the exhaust and also the air box had a large crack in it at the bottom.
I have glue the air box back and patched the exhaust, but I am getting no power on full throttle and can't figure why?
Then I noticed this on the side, the hole looks too rugged to be there naturally, can anyone shed any light?
The bike used to get up to 65/70mph on a nice road, not a have to feather it to 55mph and acceleration is woeful at best as I can't open up the throttle too far.
I have posted an image below and hopefully someone can help.
Many thanks,
Martin

The hole is normal - no worries there.

Now for the bang and lack of power. I hope it's not this, but it sounds a bit similar to what happened once to me, and the culprit was a valve that was sticking. So be prepared to have to have the head off and examine the condition of the parts therein.

My first response was "valve"...
