Perhaps start at your local dealer...

Hi, from Orange NSW.
You haven't said what model you are thinking of buying - or how far you are from a dealer.
I bought a demo model in Sydney and have been happy with it and saved a reasonable amount. Depreciation is heavy with a brand new one.
Before deciding, I recon you need to be sure on what you want out of a bike and then select one that suits your needs or desires.
Helps if you can do some of your own servicing and are 'mechanical minded'.
Best to read up on all you can and compare all options.
Having said that; the MP3 is a great bike and has lots of character. But remember, it is Italian and that brings great joy but sometimes a little pain.
Good luck - will be interesting to find lout what you end up doing - keep us informed and real all you can from this site.

Hi there,
I purchased mine in Newcastle from the local dealer there, Graeme Morris Motorcycles in Broadmedow last year and have not had an issue with them. I had it in the work shop earlier in the year after having a slight run in with a kangaroo and they were great at sorting it all out for me. When i purchased it they gave me a great price as it was a demo model at the time which i was happy with.

Local servicing is what you need to consider. Went only once to local bike repairer (it's the 20k sevice after all, cant be too difficult) and never again. Firstly the scooter bit had them stumped and as for a pair of wheels up front, it was like drowning in a carpark puddle for them. They "guessed" balancing the front wheels - 'Yep, those existing weights wont be falling off any time soon' and maybe their test ride should have gone up to 80kph to discover that the rider would have come off Wha? emoticon Crying or Very sad emoticon
