When folks say do a plug chop at wot, do they really mean full throttle or just the maximum revs you're willing to push it?

The engine is a 150 super with 3rd port cut, p150 exhuast, Cdi and 20/20. At 3/4 throttle it's revving so high I fear it will eat itself if I push it higher. Based on gearing and speed its going about 5500rpm . I can't bring myself to rev it higher for a plug chop run.

I previously had my timing a little more advanced and it would top out at around 5000rpm. I retarded the timing a bit to address pinging and now it seems there no upper limit to how high this thing will rev.

Opinions, thoughts, and random comments all appreciated. Cheers

Crack it all the way open. The engine at its current state of tune isn't gonna scream to 10,000 and wreck itself. Sure it'll be grand

Thanks jackson. So that's one vote for cracking it right open and see what happens. Any others?

Well, you're not gonna be sustaining WOT for long, so I'm with Jackson. If you really want to see what your engine's doing, you have to rev it fully out.

I mean, at some point in the future, you want to be able to wind it out, right? Police chase, etc. You might as well do it know and see if it's gonna splode.
