1. mounting the iphone
2. providing USB power to the iphone
3. Bluetooth the iphone to helmet

The remaining issue to address is the ability to operate the screen with gloves on. Obviously, fiddling with the phone while in motion is not a bright idea. But, it would be nice to operate the touch screen (when at break) without taking the gloves off.

first try to operate touch screen with riding gloves, to no avail

first up....Anyglove solution. Promises to work on well anyglove.

directions. apply liquid, allow to dry.. repeat couple times...I really soaked the finger tips (index and thumb)

after 5x applications, I would say success rate is ~90% first try for thin gloves

repeat process for thick warm and safe heated waterproof gloves...Success rate ~5% a failure to work...on to plan B

metallic sewing thread (from ebay) linky here:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/290883557297?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
ebay product title:
Conductive Thread -Silver/Black- DIY Touchscreen / Smartphone Gloves: 15 Ft/5 Yd at $5.00

my sew kit...I mean my wife's sew kit...hehehe

Stitch such that a finger contacts the metal thread. It is a soft thread, not like a wire, more like x-mas tensile

both gloves (index and thumb)

Thumb completed on thin glove, note the vendor recommends turning the gloves inside out. Can not really accomplish this with the motorcycle type gloves

stitching thru the warn and safe gloves
as completed

seam sealer for the warn and safe gloves.

apply to seam holes

both gloves complete, note only left hand is needed

iphone 5 in scooter mount

success rate now at 97% for both gloves
Review and observations:
1. the liquid "any glove" did not live up to it's expectation
2. Thread works great, but couple issues:
a. I likely broke the thumb and finger waterproof barrier liner when sewing in the thread.
b. It is abit unsightly
c. don't use these fingertips to itch a scratch on your face. the texture is like sand paper.
3. I would recommend going straight to the metallic thread or upgrading to gloves which are touch screen compatible.
Enjoy!
