I recently took delivery on a new 2014 Fly 150 3v ie. I'm delighted with the performance, handling and looks. I was a little disappointed to see the large numbers on the speedometer in kilometers per hour and the smaller in miles per hour. OK, I think, just have to get used to looking at the small numbers. Then I realize the odometer is clocking kilometers not miles. OK, I think, just have to get used to mentally multiplying by 0.62137 ... not a problem. Then I begin to wonder what issues I might have in selling and having to certify the mileage on the odometer. Hence question (arrived at by taking the long way around). In a resale am I legally responsible for having an odometer that reads in miles per hour?
My selling dealer says that the odometer can be electronically reprogrammed to clock in miles. Sounds logical to me. I'm inclined to leave well enough alone and use my scooter as an exercise to finally think in metric. Anyone had a similar experience?
