I love the hunt! I found a seller who has these two vintage Vespa's for sale and I'm interested (cause I need them like a heart attack). Seller sent me some pictures and from what I can tell the Smallframe is pre-1966 (small engine cowl door) and the other is a 70's Super. Friend around here said that color blue was done on the Super on 74' and 76', seller thinks it's an 80' (I told her it most likely wasn't). I'm not really interested in the smallframe becuase I've never worked on one, I'm 6'3" (but it would be fun to fool around with) and those floorboards look like they need replacing as well as some missing parts. The super looks, pretty Super actually and I think I could massage the fuck out of that patina. Neither bike has a title or keys and I see lots of rotten parts like rubber, tires, and I'm sure every consumable needs replacement as well as a total engine teardown. That being said, the picture doesn't tell me whole lot, but it looks pretty clean. I'd consider making an offer for both to see if I could get them and pass the smallie along to someone who could do something with it. Any ideas on pricing for the Super, Smallie, or both? Thanks as always, and next I'll post about what oil I should use.

Hi, looks like a couple of interesting projects. I need to start wandering around the outback here to find some of these!
I agree, there is no way the super is 1980. I have no idea on the pricing, but suspect they will both require a lot of love and money! Actually, maybe not that much money depending what you find when you see the engines up close. 1500 the pair? But my finger is way up in the air! |

The red is V90 and not worth much and the "super" is not a super. It's a smallframe, probably 50 special and probably is an 1980.

I'd ask what he's thinking on both and if he say's make an offer I'd go $800-$1000 for both. But what do I know?

I think everyone here has pretty much nailed the value-ish and model. The blue def looks like a 1980 50 Special with the door on the left for the battery.
All I can say is... if you lose interest in this deal, send it over my way! |
