Modern Vespa

I was just browsing and noticed quite a few of us living here in the USA are originally from England. I came from Huddersfield, Yorkshire in 1975. I married a young lady from Wisconsin.

It would be interesting to know how many of us there are.

Livingston Maternity Hospital. East Hill. Rumor had it that there was a mosaic of a stork in the main lobby and if a new mother stepped on the stork as she left she will be back within a year. The staff got a kick from all of the women sidling along the wall, clutching their little bundles of joy.

AKA "Fort." at least to my relatives. There must be a couple dozen of them around there yet. Bunch of transplanted Pomeranian troublemakers, the lot of 'em.

Ha...pretty well-known place. Funny, I rarely eat there, though there are folks that drive from an hour away only to eat and go home. Well, it is a good place. Give me a holler sometime and I can scoot over for a coffee (and apple cupcake )

Just found out it's the start of our summer trip, so unless I can do some contorted planning, I'm out this year....but look out NEXT year!

My mother is English. In the '50's-'60's my grandparents lived in Slade Green, near Erith, Kent. I lived with my grands for 2 years, Summer '58 - Summer '60; and vacation in the summer '64.

There are lots of Brits here in Canada as well as in the US. I was born in Warrington.

Door county? I thought that was a state secret. It's really beautiful there.

I am in North Carolina, but originally from Oldham Lancs. I was born in Boundary Park Hospital, where the world's first test tube baby was born. (She's not quite as famous as Mick Jagger).
