I don't think you expect too much.

At the time of that writing, it cost Apple less than $340 to make a 32GB iPad, but was selling them for $599. The profit margin was huge and, obviously, some of that went into the brand and customer service experience. The rest went into Apple's vault. Tim Cook is swimming in there like Scrooge McDuck.

I worked with an irrigation controller company that has a fantastic PC aided product. Their engineers and owners claimed they, and the electronics industry, needed 4-5 times production cost at retail. Your numbers are suspect to me and the cost may be far less. I don't think vehicle margins are anywhere near either of our guesses.
I'm not sure if you bothered to look at the article I linked to, since my name was not listed as the author, so they can't be my numbers; I was just citing. In the article, the author links to another article at iSuppli with far more details for iPad component specs and pricing.

Then again, this was written by industry analysts, who make their living by looking at these numbers, so what the hell do they know?

No insult intended. I apologize if my tone came off that way.

Yes I bothered and found it quite interesting. Thanks.

Did this start happening shortly after you filled the gas tank?
Pretty soon after filling. I thought I had bought some bad gas and was removing the only way I knew how . Topped off at the 1/2 point but only got worse. I ruled out the gas at that point and had it towed to the dealer as I couldn't trust it on the 20 mile drive.

Doesn't take long to make the low fuel light go on so I think it's just a coincidence.

nope you overfilled the tank and the excess gas went into the roll over valve and perhaps the charcoal canister. If you clean out the roll over valve I bet it runs fine

The fix was to replace the spark plug wire. Gas wasn't an issue in my case.
