Not too much info on sliders for a 300.. At least my questions were not answered.

What gram difference should i get for my weight?

I think it makes a difference which weight of sliders you install according to the weight being hauled.. In my case, I weigh 155 lbs.. I ride solo 75% of the time, My girl weighs 106 lbs., total weight 261... 12.5 might be a little light on sliders for 2 up.

On another subject -
When I go to install sliders, (I have installed sliders on a 150S and a Buddy 150).. Do I absolutely need the holding tool to get the variator nut off?
I was able to break and re-torque the variator nuts on my other 2 scoots without a factory made holding tool with very little effort and a little craftiness.
The common mistake I read about is breaking fins on the outer variator.

What say you?

Absolutely get the holding tool - the 250/300 variator nuts are pretty tightly on there, and need the variator held securely. You can get away with a wedged screwdriver on the Leader engines that have teeth on the variator, but not on the Quasar engines that don't.
