I love that is can go for a lunchtime ride and then pull up at an outdoor patio for a bite

That is a definite scooter advantage. Establishments usually frown on motorcycles parking on the sidewalk but scooters can easily get away with it.
Hope you had an enjoyable lunch. |

I was surprised I was getting a ticket since it was private property not public sidewalk. But he was VERY serious looking and seemed confused as to where to leave the ticket. So he actually look 2 pictures of it on the bike. After finishing my lunch I walked over and discovered that it was just a warning that if I parked there again I would be towed. I threw it in the trash can beside my bike |

I don't know what their problem is....I'd pay more for my coffee to gaze on that beauty whilst I drank.
Good it was only a warning....kind of takes the joy out of the moment otherwise. |

Unfortunately for me, today I had the worlds most expensive Starbucks Iced Venti vanilla red eye. parked illegally, yes but when you consider all the double and triple parked trucks on 1st ave in the morning in NYC, he should've looked the other way. $115. Bastards!

glad you got away with just a warning - now let that be a lesson to you
No allowed to park on the pavements here, but in Melbourne different state, it's encouraged.. |

In San Francisco they let you park on the sidewalk as long as there is plenty of room for wheelchair access. Now that is civilization.

It's all because of the "cool factor". What's not to love. Anywhere a Vespa is present, one feels a little bit more "Euro"

Mary is that at or near Copley Place? I think I recognize the glass bridge in the background.
I parked in Beverly last week at a meter. Checked my pocket and the scooter but no quarters. I looked up and down the street for the meter rats but no sign. So I walk across the street to the bank to get some quarters for the meter. I'm gone all of maybe a minute and as I come out of the bank what do I spy? A meter man (not a maid) was writing me a ticket. I ran across and said I just went for change. He said "You didn't have a quarter?" He was kind of gruff and asked me what I was going to do. So I slipped two quarters in the meter and asked him to give me a break. Gave me a nasty look like I was some kind of criminal but didn't give me the ticket. Just walked away. Saved myself from a $20 ticket. What happened to people just treating each with respect and trust. |

I did enjoy my lunch right up to the time a security guard approached my Vespa and started circling it. The pic is taken from my table so I just watch him. He pulls out his ticket book and starts writing it up. I thought about going over to talk to him but he would have just asked me to move it and that would ruin my lunch I was surprised I was getting a ticket since it was private property not public sidewalk. But he was VERY serious looking and seemed confused as to where to leave the ticket. So he actually look 2 pictures of it on the bike. I don't believe they can write tickets,,,but they sure DO have the ability to call a tow. He took pics of it on the scooter,,just in case someone throws it in the trash, and claims it was never there. On the "Up Side".... Your scooter is drop dead beautiful! |
