Well, it's either a New Yorker, an Imperial or a 300.

Hard to see on an iPhone.

But, ok. A moped?

I can't really actually take credit for knowing that. The image name gave it away.

I had a '56 140 years ago. Awesome car, beautiful lines. I also had an Austin Healy 3000 Mark II. I spent more time wrenching than driving but they were both very enjoyable. I traded the 3000 for a '72 BMW 2002.

Ya gotta love some of those Continental kits. That might be the deepest one I've seen. The American car built by Austin in England that I posted had a continental kit available too - but not as deep as that Merc's!

The '57 Merc TC was a boat all on its own. Adding the connie made it almost impossible to park in a space. Look at the photo and imagine trying to load or unload the trunk.

I was impressed by that one and looked it up. Quite a car. To relate to another thread it had a tachometer. Weird. So what is up with the "connie" on the back?

The "Continental Kit" was popular in the '50s. It got its name from the Lincoln Continental, which had the outside spare. Later Continentals had a tire outline molded into the trunk lid, just to maintain tradition.

Lots of old street rods had them.
