I am not well versed on de-restrict CDI performance gained may not be as good as a mod with a 70cc kit. Brother had done this with ET2.
Go to Scooterwest to check out kit. http://www.scooterwest.com/items/?_pageCCS=t#page=http://www.scooterwest.com/item_details/Malossi-Cylinder-Kit-78-8cc-4-Stroke-(w--Four-Valves-or-w--two-valves)/3609 Other kits mention chamfer the ports but does not mention for this kit...if I recall we did grind down slightly and chamfered the ports. Call them and confirm. |

Malossi makes a CDI that does what you want, no limiter(really just an increase in the limited RPM) or immobilizer.
SIP has them, perhaps Scooterwest too. Yours is a Piaggio Leader motor, not GY6. Good luck with it. R |

2006 fly 150 want to change cdi need help The malossi CDI is for the GT125/200, not for the 2valve engine like the 2006 fly has. Also the kit linked is for the 50cc bikes, not the 150. If I recall, the Fly didn't have the immobilizer and the rev limiter is there to protect the engine. Revving it higher (where the power is declining) is not the route to more speed. |

There is no "better CDI" for the fly, the LX or any of the air cooled Leader engines.
There are ways to go faster and produce more power but they are all done using the stock CDI. What year is your bike? Was the fly even out in 2006? So the bike you have has the immobilizer, and no keys... |

Just checked, the Fly did have the immobilizer.
There's still no getting around it though. You need the CDI and matching key. |

specs for bike year 06-------150 cc-----leader engine----4 stoke---2 valave sohv----------- model fly piaggio the cdi in this machine is very hard for me to find online and there isnt much info on this at all out there . my goal is to remove CDI with upgraded one on that doesn't have a rev limiter or immobilizer unit in it i would like to get better performance out of the bike. hearing that this is impossible doent seem right at all. i cant accept the fact that this cant be done like some r saying. Its a very simple gas carb engine. This motor has a lot of the same characteristics as a GY6 motor. ITS A dc electrical system and i have the wiring diagram. its hard to believe that no one out has wanted to do this other then me if anyone know anything about this plzz send me so info thkz

I seem to remember the carb'd S 150 doesn't have an immobiliser - in which case that CDI could be used. Sadly I don't have a wiring diagram for that model, so cannot confirm.

I think you're headed in the wrong direction. That motor is primarily rev-limited by the roller weights. It's unusual to bump the CDI rev limiter on those bikes. You need to be making more power than you are to do so.
There's really no way to bypass the CDI and immobilizer. If you were to find an aftermarket CDI, it wouldn't make it faster. I'm also not aware of an aftermarket CDI produced for that scooter. If you want it rev higher, you need to get lighter weights or sliders in the transmission. If you want more power, you need to install the 187cc cylinder kit. Do NOT modify the airbox in any way, as it will never run right if you do. That's pretty much the end of the story there. The Malossi Variator for that scooter is beneficial but primarily used in conjunction with the 187cc cylinder kit. The immobilizer system does work well, as doesn't usually malfunction. It's often more a pain than a help, but usually the systems work great. Just make sure you have your keys. Use the blue key and keep the brown key safe. |
