Hello Everyone. I was recently inspired by a post to try to find out if there is a scooter club in the east bay (Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill, Concord, etc). I am looking for people that are interested in getting together once a month or every other month to go for a ride. Perhaps a ride to the top of Mount Diablo or out to Alameda. It would be nice if the ride was open to anyone on a two wheeled vehicle and it would be best to keep it off the freeways so as many people as possible could participate.

I know there are more and more people on scooters in my area as I see you every day on my commute, so how about it. Anyone up for going on some rides as a group?

Not sure if there is a group in Walnut Creek, but if you are wanting to do the Mt. Diablo ride there is a 3 peaks challenge this weekend. The ride starts in San Jose and ends in Marin Headlands and covers all three local peaks. There was a thread around here about it somewhere...

There isn't a club as such at present - but wait a few weeks. I can envisage meets, rides, help with DIY maintenance etc.

Vespa Walnut Creek does a shop ride every few weeks - check their Facebook page if you're not on their email list.

I recommend the 3 peaks challenge, done it twice.

I have ridden with a few East Bay folks and every once and a while a post will pop up inquiring about organizing a more formal EB club. There is some great back road riding over here and plenty of routes with hills, views and twisties (good coffee stops too).

Perhaps post in the 'Rallies and Events' section of the forum, pick a Saturday AM meeting spot and see who shows. If it's a weekly or bi-monthly ride always starting at the same place it might gain some traction. I'd definitely show up.

Great to hear I am not the only one looking for others to ride with.

I would love to try the three peaks ride but my weekend is booked with swim meet activities.

I will dream up a ride and post it and see what happens.

Thanks everyone.

A quick bump. Although I've been back in CA for four weeks, it's been Ivana Tinkle's busy season - and it's been *extremely* busy! However, if anyone in the area wants some help with maintenance or troubleshooting on their scooters then please contact me. If there's enough demand I might even keep a small stock of consumables on hand.
