Also agree if you have not taken the MSF course that is a must. It is cheap only $20 in Illinois and they actually will give you the money back if you don't want to donate it, so it is cheap. While all the courses are likely full for the year many people don't show up so standby works well, if you need info on the course let me know. Again enjoy it is a great scoot.

I'm thinking about it. I'd have to find someone to go with me since I'm hard of hearing and need someone with me to help me follow along since I probably wouldn't hear or understand half of the time. Only good thing is I've grown up around bikes and learned a lot about riding from a young age, so I'm pretty confident on my Vespa. Wouldn't have gotten this one if I wasn't experienced quite yet.

that is ok but for insurance reasons if you don't have the "M" certification on your license it might be an issue. As it is a state facility they probably need to have someone there for those who are hard of hearing, I know in my office that is a requirement. So again check in to it I will include the web site, let me know if this does not work.

Oh nice, I didn't know that. Thanks for the tips! I'm getting the M class test to get my M class license no matter what I end up doing, that's important to me as I come from a family of riders (my brother races on the track). And also getting a helmet soon. Any suggestions on where to find a matching midnight blue helmet but has the soft ears since I wear hearing aids and don't want the helmet to go over the ears but the soft padding works out nicer for me.

The key to a helmet is fit and comfort. You need to try it on. You may need to go to several places to find what fits well for you as each place often has different brands and each helmet fits so differently. It is hard to recommend a helmet as each head is different. There are quite a few scooter and motorcycle places around get on line look them up and check them out, you will find what you need. I bought my scooter at one place but helmet at another as the scooter place did not have a helmet that felt good. If it does not feel good you likely will not wear it. Best of luck

Oh yeah I tried on a bunch of helmets for few weeks now that's how I know the helmet with the soft padded ears on the side worked best for me. Was just curious of anyone had any tips to find matching vespa helmets like that but I'm assuming its hard to find, so I'm happy to deal with the color. Just looking for ideas on where to look at at least.

so Vespa does make helmets and I believe they are color matched. The two places I went were Motoworks Chicago and Scoot Jockeys of midwest a scooter place in Lake Geneva. They both have a lot of helmets and different brands. If I remember the place in Chicago sells Vespa Helmets. You are out west and I know there is a least one Vespa authorized dealer near you, I think Schaumberg and there are certainly a number of motorcycle places and gear places that you can find on the internet. There is a large one in Arlington heights and I vaguely remember a large motorcycle shop opening up near you, so check it out. Also remember in February at the Rosemont is the international motorcycle show that has every dealer of motorcycles, clothing, helmets, etc. and is a way to see lots of stuff all at once and often with good deals, but don't wait that long to get a helmet.

Thanks for the suggestions. Been to motorworks and vespa store in downers grove and the arlington heights bike shop. Tried on a lot of helmets so I got a good idea of what looks good and feels good on me and what size is best. The show in February sounds like a good show to attend for any stuff I wanna add to the bike if I do.
