Hi guys
As I only recently purchased my Vespa LX50, I have not yet seen it hit low on the fuel. My fuel is quite low now as you can see on the attached photo, however my fuel light has not yet come on.
Is it not low enough yet?

They all read a little different.
Find out how big your tanks is. You could do this by using the search function or by looking in your owners manual, but I'm guessing we will see a "how big is my tank" thread pop up. When you fill up note where the gauge is. Mine reads empty with about 60km left. |

Mine will vary as far as how much actual mileage I have left, but I know that I've got about .7 to .9 gallons left in the whole tank once the light comes on solid (based on how much I'm able to add). Depends on how hot everything is when I actually go to fill up. Like others say, just keep track of everything for a few fill ups, and you'll be able to better gauge how much you've got left as far as miles and gallons. |

Every scoot is different as others have said but you'll be surprised at how much fuel you have left. At least your fuel gauge works.Mine goes to 3/4 when full and then drops like crazy and sits on E forever. When i first got the bike it stayed on E. The yellow light is rock solid. Don't worry your fine.

Mine just came on on my white GT. It comes on right at the bottom quarter of the gauge.
My black GT is similar. I have found that I can get 25 to 30 miles safely after the light comes on. On this scooter, the 2.4 gallon tank has taken as much as 2.6 gallons when I ran it right to the bottom. Or maybe bottom as I haven't run dry yet. ⚠️ Last edited by WLeuthold on UTC; edited 1 time

This is an issue that comes up very often. They are all weird and inaccurate. Hard to believe, several thousand for a scooter and you have now way of telling how much has is in the tank! We all learn to live with it. Maybe thee should be a separate heading on the main page here for this very issue. Everyone who buys a scooter has the same question.

I think we need someone else with a 50 to comment - other models have different shaped tanks etc, so not really relevant.

By chance, do you get a different reading of the engine is actually running?

yes, i took a photo that way as well but it was blurry. no low fuel light with the engine running. it will eventually come on if i wait for the fuel to get low enough. it seems like i might hit E then the low light will come. when i fill up I will add 2 gallons to the 2.3 gallon tank if memory serves correctly
