Thought this thread up while reading the "top 5 movies" thread.

My wife and I watch several shows together. Although I never really just plop down and watch TV I tend to only watch when one of "our shows" are on.

Game of Thrones
Breaking Bad
Walking Dead
American Pickers
Big Cat Diary (all reruns now I believe)
Justified
Castle

...to name a few.

Never heard of Longmire and have heard good things about under the done but still don't know much about it.

Btw, just checked my email and the new Breaking Bad season is in Netflix. I know what I'll be doing all night now.

Don't have a TV, but watch shows a year later on Netflix...

- Breaking Bad (how can I not, it being filmed in 'Burque and all...?!)
- 6 Feet Under
- Game of Thrones

That's it in the last couple of years.

True Blood.

Justified, Breaking Bad, Dexter all got bumped from free TV to make room for "Gypsies renovating their homes and swapping spouses while cooking twelve course meals" type programs.

Longmire is well worth a look if you fancy a not-too-heavyweight police show.

Under the Dome is based on a Stephen King book, with enough changes to keep those who have read it interested.

I'm *really* looking forward to Hell On Wheels returning next week.

Others I'm watching include
Franklin and Bash - legal comedy
Covert Affairs - fairly light CIA show
True Blood - vampires, werewolves and nudity
Futurama - 'nuff said.
Falling Skies - aliens invade - near the end of S3
Copper - New York police in the 1860s

As far as TV "series", I watch just a few. Big Bang Theory because I think it's very well done, love the characters and I think it's funny as hell.

I also got a comp from my cable company this year, free HBO for three months, so I got caught up with the first two seasons of Game of Thrones in time to watch the third season as it aired. I'm a huge fan now. Not sure how I'll follow the series now that I no longer have HBO. I really don't want to subscribe to it since GOT is the only thing I'd watch. I'll look into a TV streaming site I guess.

Anybody use a free streaming site they'd recommend?

I can relate, we have 2 boys, 2 and 8 years old so when the TV is on during the day it's always, yo gabba gabba, peppa pig, little bear, regular show (actually quite funny), gravity falls and Spongebob.

Then we switch to our shows around 8 until we sleep, haha.

Longmire a lot more than a good guy bad guy show...has good substance (interpersonal dynamics, cultural) and casting is good.

Blue Bloods...not so much a good guy bad guy show...it does well by having a couple of Reagan Family subplots going on. Good casting. Tom Selleck is his usually stoic best...Danny Wahlberg does himself well as well as the rest of the Reagan Family cast.

Band of Brothers ...this was initially done back in early 2000's, I got the BluRay set from son...great casting. This is where I believe Danny Walberg may have gotten noticed. For those who watch carefully in the Batttle of the Bulge episode a lieutenant is attempting to supply ammunition...it's Jimmy Fallon! Damien Lewis is exceptional.

American Restoration...I just enjoy watching folks being so happy that Rick Dale and his team are able to restoring good memories.

Fringe. Wife got me on this one...I've gone thru seasons 1 - 4 and there will be only one more season. Got to stay focused on events...casting / dynamics are good. Just to watch "Walt" is worth it. Those "Observers" might make wearing tasteful suits and hats fashionable again.

Burn Notice...Getting really too deep and since it is the last season I guess that's the path they want to take.

24...I'm re-watching seasons 1 - 9 again. I'm on season 5 (again). Getting ready for the release of season 10! "David Palmer" makes a great President...I would vote for him! Jack Bauer...let him go after the terrorists...he'll get it done and he's so polite...only cuss word is "damn" and always says "thank you!" as he slices and dices...unbelievable! Clap emoticon

For my wife...it was Monk...Glee...now it's Fringe...between all of this and those "bubble" games, spelling games, etc. etc... I am but a mere footnote in her life.

So I end up cleaning up my computer files, sorting, naming and then backing them up...over and over again...at least it's running faster.

I also was able to do a bang up job on a virtual visually "wireless" TV and component wall mounted system.

2. True Blood (they're really pushing the weirdness limit this year)
3. Boardwalk Empire
4. Justified
5. The Killing (watched the 1st year - thought it would never end - almost too much drama at times, not watching this year)
6. Breaking Bad (missed last year while Dish worked on an "agreement" with AMC)
7. The Bridge (like this one so far)
8. American Restoration

History channel has gone down the tubes. What history? Liked all the UFO/Ancient Aliens stuff they used to show. Spend a lot of time these days watching the Science channel and the Murder channel (ID channel).

We watched the first season of Boardwalk Empire then dropped it out of the rotation, forgot that actually was pretty good, may have to pick it back up!

Stayed up till 2:30 last night trying to get caught up on breaking bad season 5, got 4 episodes in and had to call it a night..err morning, may watch a few more tonight. It's one of those shows that I just can't stop between episodes too long because I'm left hanging wanting to know what's going to happen next! Is the season finished on TV? I'm watching them on Netflix and see 8 shows available.
