Seattle here you know, not California.
But you have no bike here so no problem regardless.

Yeah, let's work on a schedule.. Monday instead of Wednesday? People?

Monday or Tuesday next week would be PERFECT. I'm going out of town for a week starting the 28th (wed). Hopefully we can schedule a little sooner so I can have my rematch at pool!.... oh ya and fix up the scoot too.

Basic Maintenance 101
Well then, Tuesday it is. This will be a GROUP effort again, I am NOT an expert and sometimes make mistakes. "sketchy advice & parts cheap". Fortunately I DO have the Haynes manual if we get stuck.

Bring your maintenance stuff and maybe specialty tools?
Again will have new NGK plugs, long & short 7s if you need.

If your scoot is all mainted up, we'll have detailing supplies to make it prettier.

Voodoo,

Many thanks for the invite as I'm doing everything in my power of persuasion to get the brother-in-law to hang out a few more days so I can attend the Klatch. It's tough sledding so far. Even pulled the Jedi Mind Trick but he's not budging. I might have to resort to the banana in the tailpipe to get this deal down.

So far I'm a dinner down at the Keg and he gets to control the radio for the entire drive back to Socal. A man can only take so much. I'll PM you if I can close this deal. I'll take you up on that ride as I need to see the Metal Chicken before heading home.

Reminder, it's tonite 5 to 9:30. Looks like a fair turnout, couple guys out of town, but a couple of new guys are expected.

Show up on your scoot if you can, in your car if you must and join the 'amateur hour' while we figure out how to do basic maintenance.

Hopefully one of the guests didn't chop everyone into little pieces and stuff them in a freezer someplace. That might discourage me from trying to arrange one here in Chicago.

Welded a new fanny on the frame. 50cc's of screaming fun, this thing is FAST and the 6 speed gears are butter!

Our group was about the same size, 3 new guys & 3 guys got permission to cut class this time.

PS Yes, a LOT cooler Jimmy.
Jackets on or suffer when we went for pizza run after.
Great little ride to check out Skott's carb fixing and tuning skills.
EVERYTHING works right now(Thanks Brent).

V oodoo,

2 weeks in and we're already breaking out the special rules for the Socal no show? Alright somebody teach me the secret handshake, or how many times do I have to knock on the garage door, on one leg, while spinning around to gain entry? If somebody tells me they've already designed patches I'm out.

Oh and I see your metal chicken and raise you a cock on wheels.

Calm down. Naw, don't worry, few ppl have would have a problem avoiding or postponing the sort of things we must prohibit to stay productive(External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text) and out of jail. Plus, nearly everything's legal here anyway, so it's a very short list.

No secret signs or other BS except of course the mandatory Cali guy chicken run.
And that's OUR own local giant chicken, so I'm calling your bluff with that oversized wheeled metal cock thing you probably just googled up.

Attention please, announcement :
Next meet in 2 weeks sharp. External inline image provided by member with no explanatory text Or whenever I'm told to have it.

Scooter is the conversation ~
I just have to say = hats off to Terry for having us all over and letting us use his tools and space. It is a lot more fun to work on your scoot with people around all doing the same. Hopefully we can find a space to keep it going while Terry is away .

I am looking forwards to our next gathering and hope to see more faces of Seattles scooter crowd attend. I now have to get my electrical sorted on my smally - it doesn't even have the kill switch operating - this will test my patience so i am happy to have company and help working on it ... Nerd emoticon

see you all soon I hope - and good luck to you people in other cities getting yours going - it is worth the effort IMHO...

Ok, like last time, let's VOTE. That's the AMERICAN WAY, right?

So.. a week from tomorrow, Tuesday the 10th OR next day Wednesday the 11th? Both are good for me. Please post up your preference.

Oh, good news - If I understand his post, VADER will be flying in and bringing the coffee!

We have a ScooterKlatch in North County, but it's quite a stretch from San Diego up in Fallbrook.)

We did it every other week this summer, and now I'm working on making it monthly during the fall/winter months. Have been getting feedback from the folks who came as to a convenient day and time. Should have more info in the next week or so.

V oodoo! Please keep me posted on one that will be happening when Dan is home from work. He gets home on Thur, Sept 12 and we are doing Run From the Sun that weekend following. Most of the rest of the month he is home we will be available and I think it would be fun to truck the '52 down for a bit of tinkering.

Looks like we have a plan and I hope as many as possible can make it. It is a lot of fun. I'm guessing we will be focusing on putting Syntagma's new Super 150 thru a tough inspection and making sure all safety equipment is working properly. It's a nice solid old bike w/ good motor that just needs most of the controls cleaned up & dialed in.

No problem fixing your own stuff or helping somebody else, we'll have the usual tools available.

pre funk
What a great weekend! I spent most of the day, Friday, with V oodo learning the basics (and some tricks) of clutch and brake cable repair/maintenance. - He's got patience for days!

What was accomplished -

- Loosened hand clutch assembly
- Tightened clutch cable
- Tightened front brake cable
- minor wiring back up turn signal switches and such
- Replaced original brake levers with adjustable ones
- Removed remnants of old turn signal posts
- Removed some plastic shrouding over the clutch cables near the kick starter and discovered it needs a bit of love (nothing too major)

It was a blast! I really enjoy picking up new skills and learning from someone so knowledgeable. I can't thank you enough V oodoo! It's been invaluable.

Then on Saturday, I got my wife out around the neighborhood riding the Fly up and down the blocks. Of course she's now got that grin and is eyeing my scooters. Wha? emoticon

Lastly Sunday was just a good relaxing day Pledging the scooter and hanging out with my daughter. Life is good.

ANYWAY - I'm looking forward to Wednesday!

But, thanks again Terry. I only made it once but, it was a blast. Look forward to next season!

Hopefully by then, my schedule will ease up.

I will bring the beer and ducttape.

Everyone should hit the thumbs up for the V ooDoo man!

I love this stuff, what a blast!

It was great wrenching and learning with everyone. I ended up swapping out my head for another where the spark plug socket wasn't stripped, completely cleaning and tightening the front brake, found a few more things that need attention, and I even made some new friends. It doesn't get too much better!

I can't say thank you enough, V oodoo, for hosting SK! We're all going to be eagerly awaiting your return. 8)
