Hello forum,

I have seen a puddle of oil on the floor that appears in the morning near the engine area. What could cause this leak?

You need to clean all the oil off the bike so you can see exactly where it is coming from. That will help us/you diagnose the issue.

he means wash your engine down so its clean, that way when it leaks you can follow the oil drip up to where it starts from.

It maybe a bad case seal or just a poor gear selector box seal, it maybe leaking from your auto lube so near the carb area. You may have a leaking oil tank joint or even the oil tube has split somewhere. If its not a clean engine you may find it difficult to see.
Otherwise keep cleaning your garage floor untill the oil leaks stop then ride it untill the oil leaking out of your engine isnt your major problem.

It may be leaking from engine breather on top of the clutch housing.

When my oil tank was cracked, so much oil got into my frame, and gradually leaked onto the floor and onto my pipe (header wrap).
Still smokes a bit.
Took a month to get it out, still seeps out sometimes, even with cleaning as best as I could.

My Stella leaks a little out of the gasket for the oil inject, I have tightened it and changed gaskets it just does that, just a little. They are known to weep a little. My p200 is pre mix and I think a tiny amount of oil appears under it which is evaporated premix fuel leaking throughthe paper carb gaskets, not a lot but enough to wipe up once in awhile. My 1964 bajaj doesn't leak at all, go figure! You can correct leaks but you may not get it all. I say monitor the gear oil level, if anything really bad happens chase the leak. I live with a few drips here and there.
