Hi everyone, I thought that it was high time that I contributed something to this forum as it has already given me so much knowledge and I've only been a member for a few weeks!

Tucano Urbano describe these trousers as: "Heavy canvas touring trousers that turn into shorts". Here's my review:

These trousers are made of heavy canvas and feel much tougher & thicker than the denim I usually wear. They are very comfortable and very breathable. I'm a 32" waist and these are medium and fit great. They are cut long so they don't ride up to high when you're sitting on your scooter.

They have padding in the knees & thighs which is easily removable - I wouldn't describe it as "armour" as it is not really robust enough for that and carries no CE marking. I would however much rather have it in the trousers than not if (heaven forbid) I came off in them, and I think that at the very least it would stop them going through at the knees and thighs.

They also have the added bonus of turning into shorts (for that trip to the beach!)

I really like them because when the padding is removed they just look like normal combats / jeans and you can wear them out & not look like a biker. They also feel quality and are a nice cut.

They were only £60 (less than a decent pair of jeans).....

PS
Sorry for the naff quality of some of the photos...

Thigh padding taken out...

Knee padding....

I will review the "rocky" jacket i am wearing in this pic next!

They *are* cool pants/shorts! Molto grazie for the review--

Some vendors carry Tucano Urbano products in the US. The big Italian mega-scooter site, http://www.wheelup.it , carries lots of their stuff [click to select the English language site] but I don't see this model.

All you Italian folks can check out the Wheelup site in the original! 8)
