Heya there, ive got my 2 stroke oil pooling up around the nut in carb box where oil line ( metal line ) goes through to inject oil. Ive noticed it before and havnt thought too much about it but it must be getting a bit worse as im noticing drops of 2 stroke oil on floor. ( must be coming out tube back of carb box), and theres greater amount of oil pooling there. Its also a bit " oily - er" round/ in airfilter and carb throttle. Anyone had this go on??

My oil injected vespas always leave a mini pool of oil but I figured it out why. The oil comes from the "condensation" sort of speak of the gasoline and oil mixture that comes out of the carburator venturi and hits the air filter. After the air filter gets soak then it drips/drops oil.

Other than that , typically any oil leak around the carburator area will come from a bad carb to carb box seal or the line for the oil not being tightened

Thanks for the reply. Im pretty sure my carb is tight but i might pull it out and check the carb box seal. Got a new gasket so might as well replace. That nut seems tight but really pooling where that line goes through the nut. Seems the line isnt going in right through centre so is it ok to back nut off and try to pull out that line and redirect ?? Might give that a go. Thanks again

...sorted,,,simple really,,,or im simply an idiot. Backed off bolt so line going in was loose, pushed it through a bit further and tightened bolt. Line going in still a bit crooked, but no oil seemingly coming through. Gotta love the easy stuff.

The end of that oil tube is fluted. if the nut loosens and lets the tube raise away from the sealing it will leak.

Glad you found the culprit.

It is fluted. I'm sure a plumber has a different term for it. It is very similar to a fitting on an espresso machine.
