Modern Vespa

Just for fun I thought I'd post a few pics of my Wife's little van project she's busy doing.
It's a Subaru Sambar 650cc rear engine. Comes with a fake VW camper body kit. 4 seater, the 2 rear seat fold into the floor (so my Vespa would fit in the back) hahahaa.

It broke down when I went to pick it up so got relayed from Cornwall all the way back to North Northumberland. Stripped and resprayed VW apple green & white in the Father in Laws workshop, full engine rebuild and she's now busy on the interior. Thats him helping her fit the roof linings.
After trawling the web, she's replaced all the material on the roof linings, carpets and is currently doing the seats. She's a trained seamstress/dressmaker (The wife) so been doing all the uphostery on her own sewing machines.

The fibreglass bumpers replaced with original Mini chrome ones. Had to buy 3 of them and use one to extend the rear bumper by 8", welding a section from one into the other. Wheels powder coated in black chrome. The plastic studs in the fake split rims melted in the ovens so been replaced with stainless studs found on T'interweb.

Hopefully on the road for next years rally season!!

Yeah, Japanese. It's about the size of a Bedford Rascal (ish).
I believe there's a 'dealer' in Yorkshire somewhere. I'm not sure, this is the wife's baby and she sorts all that. She did consider something like that. Trying to find small VW centre hubs that will fit.
