OK how do you delete your entire contact list from your Lumina so you can re-import all of your contacts from your non smart phone.
I've tried to import all of my contacts from my old Nokia into the Lumina but many of them have arrived with their numbers so I'm going to start from scratch. Bill X |

Bill X First login to your Microsoft email account Second near the top you'll see what's pictured on step one - Click the down arrow (1st Pic) Third Select "People" from the subsequent drop down menu (2nd Pic) Fourth place a check by clicking on each of the contacts you want to delete (3rd Pic) Fifth select delete at the top (pic'd in 3rd pic) That's it if you're using a Microsoft account - it should remove them from your phone as well after the next sync. This would be a similar process if your using Gmail or something. There are a few other ways to do this so let me know if this works for you or not. You may be better wiping the phone back to stock after you've deleted the unnecessary contacts. I'll be back on line in a few hours. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

If you are using a corporate mail account with Exchange you can sync directly. If you are using a Outlook not Outlook.com you may need to sync with Outlook.com first. Instructions for various mail accounts are at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2459660 The article is about Calendars.
Here's another on Contacts http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2844991 |

I was thinking about doing that. It would save a whole bunch of time.
The phone was sent in the post. Bill X |

Bill X My son had to take his new phone over because the sim he had from his old phone as the wrong size for his new Lumia. FWIW, there are many things I like better on the Win 8 phones than on the iPhone but sync isn't one of them. |

It's academic because the phone is going back.
We went to a Vodaphone shop today and asked the very helpful staff to transfer the numbers and they informed me the phone I'd received wasn't blessed with my current number but a entirely different one for which I was paying an additional £30 a month and I wasn't even due an upgrade until April. It's being collected next week. Knobjockies Thank you for your help regardless. Bill X |

Which begs a question - do I really need a smart phone ?
I'm a bit of a thickie when it comes to learning new technology so could I live with something basic like I have for the past ( mumble) years ? Strokes chin. Bill X |

We have stuck with unlocked phones and pre-pay, so there's never any confusion over upgrades - don't get them.
£30 is about what we each pay for 3 months service. |

£30 a month for contract is crazy. Virgin are doing as SIM only deal on a one month contract for £15/month which includes unlimited data, unlimited texts and unlimited minutes to all. Fantastic deal.
I think you might need to a be a broadband customer to get that deal but if you aren't the price isn't much more. Buy an unlocked Samsung Galaxy from ebay and you're laughing. |

Yeah. We have real competition in the mobile market in the UK Cheryl. The deals compared to those available in the US are almost unbelievable. I am torn between the above deal and this one... 200 mins calls, unlimited texts and unlimited 4G data for £12 a month!

SIM presenty fitted in a (£30 stock return, as new) Nokia Asha from Virgin's PAYG store online. Decent battery life, touch screen (albeit a small one) and old-school pushbuttons too. |

Time before last when I was in the UK I was surprised at the cost of phone calls from one mobile network to another. It was much cheaper to call the US on my pay as you go Virgin sim. |
