I would be interested in one. I have no problem with my 500's speedometer but my wife's 400 is reversed with the more visible white letters representing KPH vice MPH.

Remember also the ultra-simple solution for this: stick your own numbers.

So the overlay is clear... Wouldn't that just put white numbers on top of still-visible other numbers in the speedo? Sounds like it would be rather jumbled but maybe I am missing something; I'm a long way from my scooter.

Do you have a pic of it installed you can post?

I didn't include a picture of it installed because I couldn't get a good one without a lot of glare. Therefore this is about as good as I can do with my camera; and as you can see it still has a lot of glare. Moreover, I also needed to cover the flashing red LED on speedometer with black tape (or disconnect the battery which I didn't want to do) to keep it from flashing in the photo. So I hope this is ok.

This is my MP3 500 speedometer, so it would look different on a 400 or 250. I also adjusted it a little clockwise to compensate for the speedometer error.

The perfect solution would be for Piaggio to have made the USA version speedometer in MPH, but since they didn't this is one solution.

The problem is that although those numbers are spaced around a bit more than the originals, they'll still read low. 50mph is pretty much bang-on the 12 o'clock position in reality (the 90kph mark). If they were spaced to give nearer a true reading, it'd be worthwhile.

If you go ahead and do it, a lot of people will buy them. If you don't, they won't. Count me in.

I also found that the GPS comparison puts 50mph at top dead center. No matter because the ring can be rotated wherever you want.

Just thinking
I may just go to an art supply store. They sell rub on lettering in any size of and font styles. As an artist I have seen them, but they are hard to find. After rubbing them on one could put clear finger nail polish over the letters to make them permanent.

Probably not a good idea to put finger nail polish on the clear polycarbonate over the gauge. Almost guaranteed to craze the plastic and you won't see it at all. Definitely not worth the risk

Here was a really good thread on correcting speedometer indicators with overlays, much like what qualt has come up with, equally good. Likearaptor is probably still around, try a PM.

They are now on E bay. $10 for two + free shipping
I just listed them on E Bay at two for $10 (+ free shipping) so if anybody wants them that's where you can buy 'em. Go to, www.ebay.com. and enter "Piaggio MP3 Scooter Speedometer MPH (mile per hour) overlay"

They are not the perfect solution under all light conditions but they do work.

For all practical purposes I'm not making any money on them at this price. By the time I pay for the overlay material, the E Bay selling fees, the Pay Pal fees, the first class mailing costs, plus the cost of the mailing envelope, it doesn't leave much left; but that's ok.

The glass is half full, IMO. Certainly better than OEM if looked at it from the positive side.

hi motresyklman, the only ones that I have seen are calibrated to 110 mph, not 100 mph.

Really? I just went to ebay now and the price is $14.95, not $12.95. I paid $14.95 for it back on 2/26/2016, too.

Does it really matter whether it shows 100 mph or 110 mph? As long as the Piaggio MP3 300 has the same speedometer as the 200 and 400 then it's all good, right? If you don't like to see the 110 on there then just take some white out and over it up.
