Hi all! I have a bit of a problem in that I have oddly shaped hands, and I have been unable to find gloves that fit me appropriately. I'm currently wearing a decent pair of men's mediums, but they don't fit me particularly well (better than nothing, though).

For reference, I'm a woman, and have really long fingers and a thin hand overall, so I either can buy gloves that squish my fingers but fit my palm, or gloves that fit my fingers but slide off easily.

So, after six months of putting on every single glove I could find at all the local shops (Dainese, Scuderia, etc), I have surrendered. Does anyone know a place where I can buy custom-made motorcycle gloves? I'm not looking for just leather gloves, I want the protection of the knuckle armor, etc. I emailed Johnson Leathers, but they emailed me back and told me they don't do custom gloves, only custom jackets.

I know it's a weird problem, but I'm very into wearing all the gear all the time, and I'd like to own a pair that fit and protect me well, no matter the cost. Anyone have any ideas?

buy a pair that are a tad big and find a leather shop that can stitch them down. maybe a place that does seats. gloves that have the external stitching excess outside would be best. Also bates leathers might make them as they use to make them for racers back in the day.

Have you contacted a glove manufacture to see if they could make a set from a outline?

There's a German guy in SoBay that does it. Forget the name. They're supposedly awesome. Glasseye would know tho.

Ooh, great idea! My current gloves are tight on the fingers, but fit on the palm - I'll pop back over to Scuderia and find a pair of the opposite, and then hunt down a leather shop. I bet Johnson Leathers would do that, at least.

I also just emailed Bates to see if they still do custom gloves.

I have not contacted any glove manufacturers - I sort of figured they'd all be too large/busy to deal with one customer's glove issues.

The O.Z. - oooh, that is just what I'm looking for. You know, someone at the Dainese store told me something similar, but she couldn't remember his name either, and I couldn't find him online. Mysterious German man and his glovemaking abilities...google has failed me!

Oh, wonderful! Thurlow is /exactly/ what I am looking for. I'll contact them and set it up! Thank you, thank you!!

Crap -looks like Thurlow actually went out of business? Their website is up for sale, and there doesn't appear to be any way to contact them. Gosh darn it.

You will not be sorry.

He makes them in house, deerskin I believe.

The price is kinda high but I got 5 years and 85K miles out of my last pair.

You might check out Aerostich's website. I've included a link directly to their glove page. They size their gloves a lot differently than most, offering a product that's more fitted than the 4 size industry standard. All of their products are made in house and can usually be custom tailored as well. Link on to the sizing and comparison link towards the bottom of the page as this will give you the information required to size your gloves. I've had a pair of their goat skinned ropers for years and love them. If you have specific questions or concerns, they staff their phones in house and can readily answer any of your questions or concerns. Aerostich was founded and is operated by a devoted riding enthusiast. BTW, women's specific items are a huge portion of their business. Good luck

Plug in rabbit fur on the internet. It will bring up a number of places. Call one of them and discuss your problem.
