The Tallis Scholars were (still are AFAIK) regular performers when I was the Production Manager at The Ford Centre for the Performing Arts (now the Toronto Centre for the Arts).

I love their polyphonic sound.

Must have been tough duty, hanging around listening to them. Did you get paid, too?

I made pretty good money, but not as much as I would have made as a union stagehand working in the same venue.

I got to listen to some of the best musicians in the world. I also had to deal with some beastly egos. Pleasantly enough, some of the biggest names turned out to be the nicest people. Yo Yo Ma was always a treat to work with.
