Hi there - my name is Dave James & I am responsible for product design at CV Royale Enamel.
I just wanted to run some of our new Rubber Product Designs by you prior to commencing production.

Your thoughts please -

We have been playing around with a new idea for a numberplate holder incorporating a mudflap with emblem which better suits the Modern Vespa design than is currently available in the marketplace.

The designs shown are suitable for Indonesian, UK & US Numberplates and we plan to produce these from molded rubber, the plate & emblem designs will be recessed into 5mm thick rubber.

The Plate Flaps are pre drilled to suit the schematics of the rear plastic mudguards of the LX & S type.

Any emblem is possible & like our vast range of Scooter Badge Bar Badges will be color etched on to molded resin.

Rain Proof, Scratch resistant & not effected by the Sun or Tar, grease , grime or Thinners.

Also available from Royale Enamel soon is a range of colored floor rubbers, heel kickplates, sidepanel protectors, foot pads & centre mats to color co ordinate your ride - more details soon.

Rubber colours available - Red, Cream, Blue, Black, Grey, Green, Yellow or Orange.

Yours truly Dave

I like them!

You should also do a L-plate version for the UK market, for 125 models.

Here's my current rubber mudflap -

Hi there Dave, Dave & Dave & all of you - nice to meet you on here & thanks for your comments.

The first Plate Flap we are producing will be for an S type LX type rear mudguard fitting.

A couple of local lads here are barking at me to get them done soon for their scoots, so you will see those soon within the next couple of weeks, I will post photos for further comments & thoughts.

As these are such a personalised item, we will produce to order & ship worldwide directly from our factory here in Jakarta by Registered Airmail Signed For delivery.

Personalisation will include:

Choice of Rubber Color
Choice of Plate Design & Colour
Choice of Emblem at the Bottom

We will make available designs for each US State or English County or any design you should choose, Scooter Club, Event whatever we can do it as long as a decent JPEG of your design is provided.

Later if you wish to change your plate or emblem - they will be produced in such a way that you can change them.

The price is likely to be around $65.00 worldwide post included.

Once they are running we will post a descriptive advert under the Modern Vespa Sponsors Classified Advert Section - many thanks for your input on the developement of this New Product.

Dave

Thanks Judy for your kind comments.
Royale Enamel specialise in anything & everything that can be added to a Modern or Classic Scooter & we try to develop products that are not mass produced & a little bit different to the rest.
We are currently developing after market accessories for Modern Vespas including minimalist front & rear racks (not tubular) Badge Bars with fittings without the need for drilling and a new version of the mega rare scootboot for Modern Vespas.
Thanks for your interest

One thing I forgot to mention is the size of these Plate Flaps - they measure 17cms Wide x 24cms top to bottom.
That is 6.75 inches x 9.5 inches.

Just a note for those UK folk who might get one of these (excellent products from what I can see) - the rear number plate will be technically illegal, and will certainly be an MOT failure if not swapped for the original at MOT time.

Thanks Jim - you are quite correct, the UK Plate Flaps will measure 230mm Wide x 300mm Top to Bottom & for Modern Vespas or for any Scooter / Bike registered after September 2001 the Plate will be made from a yellow reflective material with Black lettering. There will still be adequate space left for the emblem or design of your choice on the mudflap part below the plate.
I will post an example tommorrow.

OK, I'll add the (legal and and now far stricter MOT) requirements for number plates in the UK changed about 18 months ago - at the very least the *UK* postal code and name of the *approved* supplier has to be present (in a certain font, size, etc, etc, very boring). This is to prove with a 'paper-trail' that the relevant documents were checked before issuing the plate, to prevent cloning.

So it'll still need swapping for MOT, even if OK as far as Plod is concerned at a cursory glance.

That's fine in my book, loads of folk do similar with exhausts, small plates, 'car tyres', etc.

It's just a nod for the UK customers, that's all.

Hi LX125man

thanks, glad you like it,sorry about the Spurs decal but there are a few other supporters out there.

I removed the seat and took it into my local auto trimmer who recovered it in the two tone Black & White ( Spurs colours) for me....I thought the black seat was to much of a "block of black" as it was.... so I wanted to break it down by adding the white....to fit into my overall styling colours of Blue/White & Chrome theme......Well it suits me but I know its not for everyone and Im just " keeping the faith" as being old Skool Mod,and being more like a part of the "Antique Road Show" these days as the years role on,Oh for the joy of the ride that keeps you scootering on,cheers Mike
