A bit of snow this morning. A bit of shovelling this afternoon. A lot of back pain now. Just what I didn't need today.

Just what I told my dad...
I'm from Chicago. We get plenty of snow.

He's 62. I told him to get a snow blower. And he did. I don't want him going out like that. A couple people from work went out like that a couple years ago.

Just sayin.

It was such a small amount of snow that I didn't even think about hauling out our electric snow thrower. All it took was a slight wrong turn of my body and ouch!

ANYDAY! Here too. Neighbor shoveled me again, and I have a corner lot. I have trouble with falling on the ice so I mow his lawn, he shovels my snow. Win Win. Careful young man, those back injuries are hell for us big guys.

We live in a townhouse and share a driveway with the unit next door to us. We have lived here more than 15 years with the same neighbour sharing our driveway. In all that time I can count the times they have shovelled the entire driveway on one hand. If I am able to, I always shovel both sides of the drive.

We share the front yard with the house one the other side of us. I always cut the entire thing when I cut it, and they mow they entire thing when they cut it. We have a gate between that unit and ours out back and we share a mower in the back so that we don't have to carry a mower through the house as that is the only way to access the backyard.

We have had several different neighbours on that side, and this arrangement has always worked well. We have always gotten along well with the neighbours on that side, and rarely even speak to the neighbours on the driveway side.

Strange how things work sometimes.

Snow!? What's that? Wha? emoticon Wha? emoticon
Just kidding! I had my fill of it when I was in Idaho and New England. Although a quarter-inch of ice makes it miserable around North Texas.

Since I got rid of my car it seems the amount of rain and snow we get in this part of Ontario has gone up significantly. But it's probably just because I am hyper-aware of it now.

Could probably ride the scoot into work tomorrow. The wife reports the roads are clear. More than likely I will be making an early morning visit to my chiropractor and letting my wife drive me to work.

There's no way I'm taking the scoot anywhere for a few days at least. I think I have injured my back more seriously than I first thought. A few hours later, and I can barely stand up. Making it though a scheduled 14 hour day tomorrow at work looks very questionable.

We'll see why the chiropractor has to say about it tomorrow morning.

We chiros love snow. Well, actually don't see too many back injuries from shoveling since snow blowers took over. There is always a bit of a seasonal spike of mishaps from people doing things they're not ready for.

Hope your guy helps you get things sorted and you can get on with things you need to do. Never fun sitting out life.

P.S. Is ice working for you?

Ever since I quit smoking I've developed a real loathing of winter.

Harv

wait. that sentence sounds really messed up.

I've grown to loath winter since I've quit smoking.

I'm hating it because I'm fucking cold, all the time. Obese was warmer. None of my gloves, all of which I was happy with, are NOT warm enough. I've taken to wearing fingerless ragg wool indoors.

Back is feeling much better after morning visit to chiropractor, and the scheduled long day at work got turned into a shorter day. Doing fine.

Next time it snows heavily, take a day off and don't go any where until 3 pm. Be interesting to see how that works out.

And we have some that ride all year in our club!

No doubt
Hey I know I guy from there that walks on water.
I've only skied in the desert once. It was incredible. Unfortunately it's rare in the Mojave and doesn't last long enough. But it is such an off the wall event that it would be worth having a set of skinny sis for the rare day. Palm trees look cool with snow covering the fronds.
