Modern Vespa

I'm getting conflicting comments about my modern scoot. I also have someone wanting to buy it and I am perplexed.

I know the 250 Super was never intended. I've heard multiple reasons about why they came in to existence but don't know the truth for sure.

Can anyone give some insight on this? I sure would appreciate knowing what I have. It's not to drive the price up as the offer I have is more than fair. It's more to find out if I want to part with it or not.

Well gosh, it is something of a quirk. A limited number of GTS 250 Sports were brought into the US before the 300 engine became available. I understand a few were even mislabeled. It is a small footnote in the history of modern Vespas in the US. If you have one and like the seat and other appearance differences of the Sport - great. As far as suggesting it might be something of unusual value - not in my opinion.

Nope but i think you can have bragging rights for something unusual but it's not going to make it worth more. Just have fun with it.

What I find interesting is that it was never really acknowledged by Piaggio. I'd like to hear what really happened and why they decided to bring some over.

I think that they needed extra bikes to fulfill dealers AOP's and this was the solution.

rare since it was only made for a few months, but no added value form NADA or KBB.. maybe in 30 or 40 years it will have a cult following

I have one, and I can assure you that it is faster and more eye appealing than the GTS 250. Seriously, though, I like the dash on mine as opposed to the one on the 300.

I love mine for the Dash.

I don't think I would consider a 300 until they put the digital dash back in with the temp gauge, trip meter, rev meter, and the other stuff.

It really is useful! Other than that I think thats all it is. It's a GTS 300 style body, with a 250 dash and 250 engine.
