Need some help diagnosing a problem. I went for a ride yesterday, and as I pulled up into my driveway, the scooter died on its own. After trying to restart it, nothing happens. The engine doesn't turn over, and I hear nothing that would indicate the starter is working. Any ideas? I checked the fuse and that seemed to be good.

I'm not sure how old the battery is. I just got the scooter this past year, so I'm guessing it's much older than that.

No all the parts seem to be there. Since you checked your fuses I would say the next step is to have your battery tested.

This might seem like a really dumb question, but I've never had to check a battery. Where can I go to get it tested?

I'd get a new battery. Chances are it's old. You can test it yourself to see if it's good. I take mine into the battery place where i buy mine and they test it for me. However if you don't ride a lot or keep t tendered they don't last long. Not that expensive and i'd get a new one just for the reliability factor. Good luck

Would I need to go to a scooter shop to get a new battery, or could I get one from an auto parts store?

I'm a retard. Somehow the killswitch was on. I don't know how, but now it's off, and wouldn't you know that it starts just fine. Thanks for the help!

Cool. Love cheap fixes. We've all done the kill switch so not to worry. For future reference any auto store or battery shop will have them. Cheaper than your dealer. However if you want to support your dealer you can buy from them.

It happens to a lot of us. I can blame mine on getting older. [/quote]
I'm 23, so I can't. That was just a case of stupidity...lol. |

And thanks for the heads up. I think I'll pass on supporting my local dealer, especially since it's an hour away.
