I would like to propose a new holiday. I am getting tired of all the old ones. I would like to have a national, "Don't be a Dick Day".

All we do is pick a date and all everyone has to do, is on that particular day, Not Be A Dick. You don't have to send a card, or buy a gift. Just don't be a dick on that day.

Don't cut anyone off in traffic. Don't gossip in the bathroom about your co-worker. Don't waste time on the internet at work... Don't use the last of the TP and then walk away. Just don't do it, for one day. What do you think?

(I hope I did not offend any true Dicks out there. This was not my intention.)

What is your "holiday" idea?

A totally un-American idea. Being a dick is an inalienable right, at least as described in the Declaration of Independence. It is definitely a result of enjoying "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness". Proposing a holiday that suppresses free behavior stamps on these rights. Ever notice that no federal holiday in the US forces behavior suppression on everyone? That's because the Founding Fathers believed being a dick was a Creator given right. One could almost say that in America, being a dick is patriotic.

Scooter Day, obviously. The annual right to take a nice sunny day off work, as long as you spend it riding.

I propose a holiday called "PTW Days". This is a complicated holiday. It entails 5 days actually. It's the 2nd Friday of each month during the best riding weather in your part of the world. So for example... In Arizona, where I live, this would be the 2nd Friday in Oct, Nov, Mar, Apr, and May. Now, in the event of bad weather on the 2nd Friday, the holiday will be deferred to the next sunny/clear workday. The "Week Off Option"... everyone will have the option of choosing to combine their 5 Friday's off into a single string of 5 days. If you choose to excercise your "week off option", you give up the option to defer until a later date in the case of poor weather.

The only problem with your holiday is I am afraid too many people would have nothing to do if they had to stop being a dick for a day

Both seem covered. One I have always thought would be fun would be an International Torch-Flashlight day. At exactly the same time in each hemisphere, have everyone point their flashlight toward the sky. Imagine the satellite photos from that.

I just want to get rid of NYE and make my Birthday,December 30, a national holiday so that I will be able to find a good rock show to go to on that day for once. I don't need gifts or even much attention. We could rename it National Go To A Rock Concert day.

Is this why I dreamt of her last night? Because even tho, I never met her. I had a dream about her riding past me on the highway, laughing like crazy.

She was on a silver or dark grey scooter, wearing a bright orange/red jacket and her hair was streaming out her helmet.

I thought, in my dream, "God bless that gal, look at her go!". Then she crashed! I pulled over and got out and she was standing there on the side the road, laughing and saying, "Damn that stings, but it was totally worth it."

This is totally true. And exactly what I dreamt last night.

I'm getting sick just thinking about it (thinking about being here instead of there, I mean).

New Labor Day

This is a day when all pregnant women go into labor at the same hour and drop their ordinance the same day, too.

Save's soon to be fathers a lot of scattered bitching time about diapers and what not. This way all the world's bitching get's done at once and dad's have something in common to bitch about on a daily, too.

I would like an international car day.
On that day all cyclists, walkers, bus and train commuters take their cars to work. Preferably early and grab the best parking spots, but clogging the roads at peak times is fine too.

i have them ... honestly i do .... but not on sunny days booooo ...... i just phone in when its too snowy or the buggers not working n its taken outta me holidays ... ive got 4 to roll over to next year
